Recent advances in modern crucible technologies by Foseco have created energy and cost-saving opportunities among crucible users worldwide. El objeto de la presente ponencia es indicar distintos tipos de aplicaciones para la industria siderúrgica usando termografía infrarroja y especialmente cámaras de FLIR, el mayor fabricante a nivel mundial de este tipo de sensores. la termografía se puede utilizar siempre que haya un desequilibrio térmico, con lo que tiene cabida en acería, laminación y acabado y hasta en el almacén siempre que el producto no se haya enfriado totalmente alcanzando la temperatura ambiente. No solo hablamos de medida de la temperatura, sino también de control dimensional o medida de otras magnitudes como uniformidad superficial, detección de grietas, etc.
